One-day seminars to kick off in five U.S. cities this spring

ATLANTA – U.S. Kids Golf has announced the launch its Certified Instructor program, which kicks off this spring with five one-day seminars across the United States. The program embraces the golf industry’s initiatives to grow the game among youth as identified in Golf 2.0.

By focusing on various aspects specific to helping young golfers enjoy the game, U.S. Kids Golf’s seminars will assist PGA and LPGA Professionals in enhancing their junior and family golf programs and generate greater participation and higher retention.

The initial seminars will be held in Philadelphia, Denver, Dallas, Chicago and Los Angeles.

“Since the founding of our company, our mission has been to help kids have fun learning the game,” said Dan Van Horn, President and Founder. “Through our own research and experiences in addition to the input of our remarkable network of golf instructors, we have developed a program to educate, inform and inspire professionals.”

Each Certified Instructor seminar will be led by 2004 PGA National Junior Golf Leader John Godwin and U.S. Kids Golf Vice President of Sales John Bryan. Specific elements of the seminar include:

• Analysis of golf participation and programs vs. other youth sports

• Importance of “Scaling” the following elements for youth: Equipment, The Golf Course, Competition, Instruction

• Parental involvement and introduction to the Positive Coaching Alliance

• High-quality instruction focusing on fun and achievement while teaching fundamentals

• Introduction to golf-specific games to serve as a key component in instruction

U.S. Kids Golf Certified Instructors will be recognized as experts in teaching and conducting quality junior golf programs. Each seminar will include indoor training in addition to outdoor sessions that feature hands-on learning and coaching of junior golfers. Certification will require follow-up online testing.

Those achieving certification will receive numerous benefits including promotion by U.S. Kids Golf, listing on the USKG website and access to and discounts on training materials. PGA and LPGA Members attending the seminars will receive continuing education credits.
