BENTON HARBOR, Mich., April 18, 2012 – Harbor Shores, a beach and golf community in Benton Harbor, today announced the donation of home sites to Harbor Habitat for Humanity. The construction of two of the home sites at Harbor Shores will be funded by Whirlpool Corporation, parent company of the KitchenAid brand, which is the presenting sponsor of the 73rd Senior PGA Championship to be held at Harbor Shores from May 22-27, 2012.

“We are proud to donate these home sites to Harbor Habitat for Humanity,” said Bob McFeeter, Managing Director, Harbor Shores. “This year promises to be an exciting one at Harbor Shores with the addition of the Trailsides neighborhood, a residential clubhouse, completion of the 12 miles of walking trails and the excitement of the 2012 Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid. We look forward to sharing the Harbor Shores lifestyle with the future residents.”

As with other Habitat for Humanity homes that the company sponsors, Whirlpool Corporation employees will volunteer to build two of the homes at Harbor Shores. The employees will work together with Harbor Habitat for Humanity volunteers and expect one home to be dedicated during the Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid.

Harbor Habitat for Humanity, established in Benton Harbor in 1995, has completed over 100 homes to date with the help of volunteers as the organization seeks to eliminate substandard housing in the community.

“The donation of these home sites in the Harbor Shores development will provide opportunities to strengthen families in this community,” said Erin Hudson, Executive Director, Harbor Habitat for Humanity. “Harbor Habitat for Humanity is proud to be a part of this community and we are truly grateful for the generosity of Harbor Shores and Whirlpool Corporation.”
