SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (May 24, 2012) – Gateway Pro Tour announced today that Golf Academy of America (GAA), the largest and longest-running two-year golf career college in the world, has re-signed as a sponsor of Gateway Pro Tour and will serve as Title Sponsor for two GPT events this summer.
GAA will serve as title sponsor for the Arizona Summer Bonus Event (Golf Academy of America Classic), held at Pinnacle Peak Country Club June 6-8; as well as for the California Summer Bonus Event (Golf Academy of America Championship), which will be hosted at Carlton Oaks Country Club Country Club in Santee, Calif., Aug. 1-3. Both tournaments are 54-holes and will award each respective winner an additional cash bonus of $5,000. GAA will lead the presentation of the winner’s check and $5,000 bonus at the end of each tournament.
GAA is a golf course management school that prepares graduates for a wide array of golf career opportunities by offering a comprehensive curriculum of golf instruction and business management. The 16-month program balances classroom studies, practical experience and a comprehensive understanding of both the game and the business of golf.
“Gateway Pro Tour has an excellent reputation as one of the finest professional developmental tours in the country and we are very excited to continue our support of the tour as title sponsor of their summer series events,” said Mike Largent, president of Golf Academy of America. “Both organizations share a passion for the game of golf which has made this partnership mutually beneficial.”
Sponsors provide an essential resource for Gateway Pro Tour. Some of the ways sponsor money allows for the continued growth, success, and recognition of Gateway Pro Tour are – Tour expansion, increased purse sizes, Nationwide and PGA TOUR exemptions, Q-School bonuses, administration, tournament equipment and materials, charity golf tournaments, community involvement and enhanced membership benefits.
“We are thrilled to have Golf Academy of America on board as Title Sponsor of our upcoming Summer Bonus Events as well as their continued support into the 2013 season,” said Ryan Pray, Executive Director of the Gateway Pro Tour. “They have been incredible supporters of our tour and we are looking forward to partnering with them again.”
