East Hampton, NY – The Ann Liguori Foundation Charity Golf Classic held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Maidstone Golf Club in East Hampton was a tremendous success. Many of Ann’s friends came from as far as Ireland, California, Ohio and Texas to play in the sold-out event. Golfers included Yankee’s pitcher Tommy John, Marty “Mr. Fashion” Hackel of Golf Digest, Barry Weiner, agent to Paula Dean, Jim McCann of 1-800-Flowers and Mike Ferris, VP, TaylorMade Adidas.
“It was a fabulous day for a great cause and I thank all of our golfers, sponsors, donors and volunteers who made it so special,” says Liguori, sports talk show host/author/producer and President of the Ann Liguori Foundation. “Maidstone Golf Club does an excellent job and I couldn’t be more pleased. It was a great day!”
This year’s dinner honoree was businessman Jim Halpin, CEO of Platinum Maintenance, for his continued commitment to the Ann Liguori Foundation as well as a variety of other charities.
“Ann is just a fantastic ambassador, and more leaders need to step up and help such charitable causes,” says Halpin. I was honored to have been presented the Businessman Award on behalf of her Foundation, for the charity work I believe in so diligently supporting.”
Sponsors and major donors included Clarins USA, Cross Golf Apparel (www.crossgolfapparel.com), Duck Walk Vineyards, Outback Steakhouse, North & West Coast Links, Platinum Maintenance and Taylor-Made Adidas. The live and silent auction featured an Italian villa in Tuscany, golf trips to Ireland and opportunities to play some of the top courses in the U.S. and on the East End of Long Island. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society and Healthy Children, Healthy Futures.
