GBN’s Instructor Division Becomes Proponent Group

Independent Company Formed: Will Focus Exclusively on Golf Instructor Needs

BEDMINSTER, NJ (June 18, 2012) – Golf Business Network (GBN), a provider of innovative solutions to enhance the skills of the game’s top golf professionals and instructors, reached an agreement today with Lorin Anderson, Executive Director of GBN’s Instructor Division, allowing for Anderson’s purchase of assets within GBN’s interest in the company’s Instructor Division Class. Effective immediately, the former Instructor Division will be known as Proponent Group and will be relocated to new headquarters in Heathrow, FL.

“Proponent” is defined as “one who supports or advocates for.” Since its launch in 2007 under the aegis of GBN, Anderson’s organization has consistently been a vocal proponent of high-quality golf instruction and high-quality careers for teachers of golf who provide this valuable service. As the new company name attests, this will not change in any way.

All current members of GBN’s Instructor Division will continue to receive all the same membership benefits under Proponent Group. All of the company’s unique educational materials, business templates and presentations have been transferred to the new entity.

“As the division evolved over the past five years,” said Anderson, Proponent Group’s founder and president, “it became evident that it would be more efficient to manage and operate the division from Florida and this consolidation would provide long-term stability for the work we do in support of golf instructors.”

The new company will continue to have close ties to GBN as Bob Mulcahy, CEO of GBN, will be an important consultant to Proponent Group members, assisting them with various business issues and, in particular, with their contract negotiations and job-search issues – two areas where Mulcahy has an unparalleled record of having helped hundreds of pros over the past decade.

“I believe we’ve built something of tremendous value for the game’s instructors over the past five years,” said Mulcahy. “I always enjoy working with the teachers and will look forward to helping Proponent’s members as they continue to grow their businesses.”

For information about the services GBN provides for its more than 800 members or information about its membership waiting list, call (908) 234-0021 or access the web site at www.golfbusinessnetwork.com.
