Free Women’s Golf Days Created to Promote Welcoming Golfing Experiences; Cocktail Party & Wine Tasting to Complement On-Course Activities; Women Golfers of All Ages and Abilities Invited to Participate

PISCATAWAY, N.J., July 2, 2012…Supporting the PGA’s growth of the game initiatives to make golf more welcoming and fun, female golfers of all ages and abilities are invited to bring a friend and “tee it up” as the New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF) and New Jersey Section, PGA of America (NJPGA), will host Women’s Golf Day events on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Eagle Oaks Golf Club in Farmingdale, N.J., and Monday, July 23, 2012, at Black Oak Golf Club, Chester, N.J. Presented by Lincoln and Pinks and Greens, these specially designed events, which are FREE and open to women of all ages and abilities, will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at both locations.

For experienced golfers, casual golfers and newcomers to the game, the interactive women’s golf days offer females an opportunity to participate in a breadth of golfing activities in a welcoming and friendly environment. Activities will include golf instruction conducted by NJPGA Professionals, in which ladies will receive lessons in small groups (three 30-minute stations) on full swing, short game, and putting; and the opportunity to play the course with friends in a team scramble format. Following the golf portion of the day, all guests are invited to the clubhouse to enjoy a cocktail reception and wine tasting.

“Our goal is for all women to feel comfortable when coming to the golf course, and we hope this event will show them that golf can be an enjoyable activity with friends, while inspiring them to want to learn more about the game,” said Scott Kmiec, Executive Director, NJPGA. “We have incredible player development programs available that are affordable such as ‘Get Golf Ready,’ which teaches golfers the basics, and puts them onto the golf course to put their skills into action in a casual, friendly setting.”
