He won 2 and 1 on the 17th hole in his final match after winning five other matches in the 64-player bracket. He became the second player in the last three years to win the Match Play Championship without ever playing the 18th hole. His win moved him to No. 2 in the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup standings and to No. 8 in the world.
