School-based golf program to enrich the lives of young people in the area

Wichita, KS – TGA Premier Junior Golf, the first and largest after-school junior golf program in the country, is expanding with its first franchise in the state of Kansas. Tyler Dansel, the athletic director for Norwich High School, has acquired the new business in Wichita.

“Having an education professional like Tyler Dansel, who has intimate knowledge of the education system and his community, will have an immediate impact on growing the game of golf and enriching students lives in the Wichita area,” said TGA chief operating officer Steve Tanner. “Tyler’s experience as an athletic director and his passion for coaching youth is a perfect combination for developing successful junior golf programs.”

Dansel, an 11-year resident of Wichita, has enjoyed a successful career as a public educator. He earned a Masters Degree in Sports Management from Wichita State University in 2009 and has coached high school football and basketball. Dansel intends to bring his love for public education and his passion for golf together to create a successful business.

“While researching various opportunities in the golf industry, I quickly realized that TGA, with its national pedigree and school-based business model, was a perfect fit for me with my education background,” Dansel explains. “I am extremely excited to be joining the TGA family and I look forward to impacting youth in my community and growing the game of golf in central Kansas.”

TGA Premier Junior Golf of Central Kansas, which covers Wichita and the surrounding areas, is expected to impact thousands of youth annually by introducing the game of golf to children at elementary and middle schools, child care centers and community organizations through a multi-level enrichment program. TGA will then transition students to local partner golf courses through summer camps and parent-child events, creating new golfers and generating new customers for local golf courses.

TGA’s Five Level Enrichment Program enables children to advance from one stage to the next while building confidence and self-esteem. The unique curriculum is designed to enrich students’ lives through physical activity, health and nutrition and character building. The program also incorporates academic lessons in math, science, social studies and language.

“I believe TGA will have a positive impact on children by teaching them a sport that they can participate in for their entire lives, a sport that teaches many positive values such as honesty and respect. TGA also enhances the academic experience they are receiving at school. It gets kids up and active at a time when they would otherwise just be sitting around, possibly in front of a computer screen,” Dansel says.
