(Londonderry, NH) – Danish brand ECCO – a leading global manufacturer of innovative footwear – has extended its supporting partnership of The PGA of America Golf Retirement Plus program for 2013.
The continuation of this relationship, which began in 2009, furthers the company’s commitment to working closely with the community of PGA Professionals. Other ongoing ECCO initiatives in golf include serving as an official member of the Association of Golf Merchandisers and offering a sophisticated, web-based retailer training module.
“ECCO is one of the many exceptional partners that help make Golf Retirement Plus a cornerstone of the financial planning by thousands of PGA Professionals nationwide,” says PGA President Ted Bishop. “Our members are key drivers of golf shoe sales, and this gives them yet another incentive to promote ECCO’s many innovative styles.”
Founded in 1997, Golf Retirement Plus is a supplemental retirement program tailored exclusively for PGA Professionals and apprentices, GCSAA Superintendents, and CMAA Club Managers. It allows them to make their own contributions or have their employers contribute on their behalf. PGA Professionals and apprentices may also earn personal incentives by participating in the Golf Retirement Plus Partner Programs.
“PGA Professionals are the core of the entire golf industry,” says David Helter, Specialty Sales Director, ECCO USA. “This is just one of the many ways the ECCO Golf team works to support the great work they’re doing at green grass and specialty shops across America.”
ECCO Golf shoes are worn in competition by scores of international Tour stars, including Fred Couples, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn, Thongchai Jaidee, Stuart Appleby, Andreas Hartø, JB Hansen, Belén Mozo, Gerina Piller, Caroline Masson and Line Vedel Hansen.
