PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Justin Rose, the first Englishman in 43 years to capture the U.S. Open, has become the second player to qualify for the 31st PGA Grand Slam of Golf, Oct. 15-16, 2013, at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda.

Rose closed a dramatic U.S. Open, June 16, at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa., holding off Phil Mickelson with a steady even-par 70. His winning total of 1-over-par 281 was two strokes better than Mickelson and Jason Day of Australia.

In April, Adam Scott became the first Australian to win the Masters and earned the first berth into the 2013 PGA Grand Slam of Golf. The remaining major championships of 2013 – the Open Championship in July at Muirfield, Scotland, and PGA Championship in August at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y. – will determine the final qualifiers.

The PGA Grand Slam of Golf, the season-ending showcase event that boasts the most difficult qualification requirement in the game – a major championship – will be televised by TNT to a worldwide audience. Port Royal Golf Course joins the Fairmont Southampton as the official hotel site for the PGA Grand Slam of Golf in Bermuda. The 6,842-yard, par-71 course is a public facility that opened for play in 1970.
