PHOENIX, ARIZ., July 30, 2013 – The BIG Tournament, the world’s biggest invitational amateur charity golf tournament, announced today that Orchard Valley Golf Course in Aurora, Ill. has been selected as a host for a Round 2 Regional event on Sept. 28, 2013.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting The BIG Tournament in the Aurora Area,” said Chris Hamilton, executive director of the Aurora Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Participants, supporters and fans will get to enjoy an exciting tournament on a championship course and have plenty of leisure activities to entertain them throughout their stay here.”
Orchard Valley Golf Course will host up to 144 golfers in a 2-person scramble format with a tee-time of 7:30 a.m. Cost to enter is $150 per player. With the support of the Aurora Area Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Holiday Inn Aurora, golfers will experience a round of golf, OVGC discounted practice rounds, lunch at the course and promotional rates at Holiday Inn Aurora.
The winning team from each of the regional events wins $1,000 for their charity and free entry and hotel stay for the National Championship in November 2013, which will be hosted in Las Vegas, Nevada. The grand prize is $10,000. The second and third place teams will win $5,000 and $2,500 for their respective charities.
