JAMISON, PA- Heritage Creek Golf Club will be represented at this year’s Golf.com World Amateur Handicap Championship in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Heritage Creek regulars Hal Sutton and Rob Gogol won spots in the event. They will be two of the 3,400 players in one of the toughest challenges the amateur golfer can face in the world.
The Golf.com World Amateur Handicap Championship, now in its 30th year, is held from August 26-30 in Myrtle Beach. It is played on 64 area courses with 3,400 players from all 50 states and more than 20 foreign countries. The first four days are played in flights, and the winners of each flight advance to the fifth day to determine the World Am Champion.
The two Heritage Creek representatives will be making their first appearance in the World Am. Sutton, won a “Closest to the Pin” contest held earlier this year at Heritage Creek Day. Gogol was selected in an email contest run by the course. When asked about playing in a national competition of this size, Sutton responded, “I don’t think the other 3,399 players make me nervous. I just want to make sure that this 3,400th golfer manages his own game, has fun and enjoys this awesome opportunity.”
Heritage Creek Golf Club is a Kelly Blake Moran designed course in Jamison, Bucks County, PA in its first full golf season. The clubhouse has a pro shop and a pub with weekly beer specials.
