A new Vendor Direct program has been announced by Hugh Penton, Starting Time President, for their award winning My Mini Golf program. This has been requested by many golf course customers, according to Penton, as a profitable way to add this program to their sales programs without having to carry an inventory and pay the freight costs to inventory the sets.
The retailers, who may be pro shops or golf store retailers can simply place their order by email or phone to Starting Time and have the product shipped by Fed Ex directly to their customer’s home or business address. The customer is billed by the store for the products, plus the Fed Ex costs and the Vendor Direct Retailer receives a 30% discount on the published retail price from Starting Time. The retailer or Club is given the shipping cost of Fed Ex in advance so that it can be added to the invoice at the time of the sale. The Vendor Direct Retailer can make up to $150 on the sale of one Team Set.
Starting Time furnishes the retailer a 12″ x 18″ poster announcing that they are selling My mini Golf, along with sales literature and complete pricing information on all of the My mini Golf line. Depending on which location is closest to the buyers address, these will ship from either South Carolina or Southern California. The vendor doesn’t have to purchase anything, unless they would like to use it for their Junior Program or have it for golf events at their club or store. Many have found that by having the sets on the putting green it attracts the kids and family to enjoy and play while they shop for other items or are taking a lesson.
