Fighting against Fanconi Anemia and honoring combat wounded veterans
(November 21, 2013 – Coral Springs, FL) Caddy For A Cure, Inc., announces the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) as an integral sponsor of its 7th annual fundraiser golf tournament, The Liberty Mutual Invitational benefiting Caddy For A Cure. The event will be held Monday, December 9th, 2013 at the Parkland Golf Club in South Florida. The event is to help Caddy For A Cure support the fight against the blood disorder, Fanconi anemia, and to provide support and recognition to combat wounded veterans.
CMAA is the professional Association for managers of membership clubs with close to 500 members across the U.S. and internationally. Manager members run more than 3,000 country, golf, city, athletic, faculty, yacht, town and military clubs. The objectives of the Association are to promote and advance friendly relations among persons connected with the management of clubs and other associations of similar character; to encourage the education and advancement of members; and to assist club officers and members, through their managers, to secure the utmost in efficient and successful operations. Funding for the sponsorship was made possible through CMAA’s philanthropic arm, The Club Foundation. The Foundation’s COO, Seth Gregg said “We are extremely excited to support Caddy For A Cure as they aim to broaden their impact on conquering this horrible disease.”
To raise awareness of and generate support against Fanconi anemia, Caddy For A Cure will have a family affected by the blood disorder with two of their five children talk about Fanconi and its impact on their lives. Additionally, Caddy For A Cure is bringing in a group of combat wounded veterans for the event and has partnered with American Fallen Soldier to recognize and honor Army Sgt. Thomas Bohall. Infantryman Bohall, along with five other soldiers in his unit, died May 26, 2011 in Afghanistan from an IED attack from insurgents.
Caddy For A Cure CEO and program founder Russ Holden said “We are very grateful for the support of the Club Manager’s Association of America for this year’s event. We’re certain most of our guests, whether civilian or military, have been at a CMAA member-managed club, so it’s wonderful to be able to show how they also support the game of golf through charitable support.” He continued, “Although fundraising is our primary goal for the tournament, we’re very proud to promote the excellent work done by the CMAA. They are an integral part to making the experience of member golf and club life enjoyable.”
Caddy For A Cure has been offering PGA TOUR caddy experiences for charity since 2003, and LPGA and Champions Tour experiences since 2010, with proceeds benefiting multiple causes.
