Mystical Golf Announces Tenth-Annual Christmas Child Golf Tournament

Myrtle Beach event has raised $132,000 for area children in need

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) – Mystical Golf – owner and operator of The Witch, Man-O-War and The Wizard courses which have been lauded by media like Golf Digest, GOLF Magazine and GolfChannel.com – announces its tenth-annual Christmas Child Golf Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 21.

All proceeds directly benefit 180 young people at the Lighthouse Care Center of Conway, S.C. Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta, Ga., and Sea Coast Academy in Surfside, S.C.. Last year’s event raised more than $18,000, bringing the grand total of donations to $132,000 since 2003.

This year’s tournament will once again be played on The Wizard and Man-O-War golf courses. The format is Captain’s Choice. Prizes with be awarded for “Longest Drive” and “Closest to the Pin.” Raffle and mulligan packages will be available for purchase. The cost is $65 per player or $260 per team (lunch included). Hole and green sponsorships are available for $100 each, or $345 per team. The entry deadline is December 18.

“Lighthouse Care Centers and the Sea Coast Academy do amazing work getting children on the right path to succeed in life,” says Claude Pardue, President and CEO of Mystical Golf. “With the donations we raise directly benefitting young people, we’re honored to help bring joy and hope to so many at a crucial time in their personal development.”

The Lighthouse facilities care for children from the ages of 12-17 suffering from behavioral disorders. Funds generated provide activities as rewards for good conduct. They include a trip to Carowinds Amusement Park, monthly movie screenings, bowling, putt-putt golf, Carolina College football games and an annual trip to the Alabama Theatre Christmas Show. Additionally, as a Christmas gift, kids are presented with a new pair of shoes of their own choosing.

The Witch, Man-O-War and The Wizard are in the heart of Myrtle Beach and within 15 minutes of Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR), beaches, accommodations, restaurants and other attractions. A short distance from I-95 and other major thoroughfares, Mystical Golf courses are easily accessible. More than two dozen cities – including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, New York and Washington – offer direct flights.
