Reputation puts alumni in high demand with employers throughout golf industry

February 3, 2014, Birmingham, Ala. – Whether it’s working for a prestigious golf facility or golf manufacturer, or teaching golf lessons on a cruise ship, recent job placements of Golf Academy of America graduates suggest that exciting career journeys in golf.

“Golf Academy of America gave me the confidence I needed to feel like I could do anything I wanted within the industry,” said Paul Lepler, a 2011 graduate who needed only two years to advance to general manager of The Courses at London Bridge, a popular 36-hole facility in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. “It’s been a whirlwind, but it’s been a lot of fun.”

Celebrating 40 years of producing golf industry leaders, Golf Academy of America prepares students for a rewarding career through a 16-month associate degree program run by faculty made up of PGA professionals at campuses in San Diego, Phoenix, Dallas, Myrtle Beach and Orlando.

Members of the December 2013 graduating class began careers at world-class golf clubs such as Oakland Hills, Interlachen and Lake Nona and posh resorts such as Bandon Dunes and Kiawah Island. Six Orlando graduates began at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Country Club.

“Our students receive a comprehensive education that prepares them to be successful in the golf industry,” said Golf Academy of America president Jim Hart. “Golf facilities and golf companies know that Golf Academy of America graduates make quality employees.”

Other recent Golf Academy of America graduates work for major golf manufacturers such as TaylorMade, Callaway and Bridgestone. Graduates enjoy an 80-percent placement rate in a variety of golf industry jobs.
