WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Aug. 20, 2014) – Colonial Williamsburg’s Golden Horseshoe Golf Club will again play host to Jimmy Ray’s Golf Shoot Out, a day filled with golf, fun and fundraising to benefit the March of Dimes Foundation. The event is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 8 and will be played on the award-winning Gold Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr.
Registration begins at 10 a.m., with the shotgun start tournament set to tee off at 11 a.m. Green fees, cart, lunch and an awards dinner, featuring a live auction, are included with registration. Any participant who aces one of the par-3 holes will win a new vehicle.
Registration fees are $900 for a foursome, $225 for an individual and $175 for military. For an additional $25, participants may bring a guest to the awards dinner.
With 51 chapters across the U.S., the non-profit March of Dimes works to improve the health of mothers and babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
Called by Jones his “finest design,” the Gold Course is one of the best examples of traditional golf course architecture in the world. It is the premier course at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, which offers 45 holes of championship golf.
