BONITA, CA – Two more media reviews of Knuth Golf’s new driver, High Heat, have added to the positive groundswell that has been building since the driver’s launch at the PGA Merchandise Show in January.
The San Diego Union-Tribune, in an article by golf writer Tod Leonard, said High Heat “is stunning to see: a shiny cobalt-blue head with a polished mirror face that easily shows where every shot makes impact.” He added, “I hit the High Heat 12 times and never had a drive go off line by more than 5 yards. Knuth has a computer-tracking device that measures distance. My average was 232 – easily up there with anything I hit with my usual driver. Knuth has produced a driver that’s as good as or better than anything out there, and I’m awed that he could do it without the backing of millions of dollars in R&D.”
Southern California Golf Association’s Plus FORE magazine said golfers should “have high hopes” for what High Heat can do for them “after all of the favorable product reviews by credible equipment critics,” likening the movement “to a growing cult.” SCGA echoed those favorable product reviews with its own “bottom line” that every amatuer golfer can achieve with High Heat: “top ball speed, with minimum spin for distance and feel.” SCGA also referred to High Heat’s polished mirror face as an “invaluable” feature for amatuer golfers.
The High Heat 460cc driver was designed by Dean Knuth, who was the primary inventor of the USGA’s Course Rating and Slope System, and a Senior Director at the United States Golf Association for over 16 years. He created High Heat with amateur men and women golfers in mind, utilizing his Optimal CG Game Changer and Fire Zone Face Technologies to optimize the performance of all amateur golfers who have much different swings and performance needs than Tour pros.
Noted sportswriter Gary Van Sickle of Sports Illustrated and Golf.Com called High Heat “the most significant technological innovation in golf equipment from this year’s PGA Merchandise Show,” adding that High Heat is “a game changer,” and “an advantage for amateur golfers.”
Tee shots hit below the center of the face can be 20 or more yards shorter than those hit above the center of the face. High Heat has a much deeper and lower center of gravity (CG) than any of the major brands, producing more total distance and forgiveness, and a large area below the center of the face where amateurs will not lose any distance because that area is above its low CG.
High Heat was the only driver from the PGA Show named three times as the “Best” new driver and a Top new driver for women from various media who covered the show.
Since the PGA Show launch, the reviews have been consistently and overwhelmingly positive:
“You are going to have to wrestle it from my hands. High Heat made me feel like a pro. I just walked up and hit 8 tee shots and every one of them went right down the middle.”
–Mike Stinton of The Golf Channel and Golfing Magazine said
“High Heat “sounds like a cannon and goes like a rocket ship.”
–Swanson Smith, a mini tour player from San Antonia, TX
“High Heat “the hottest driver coming out of this year’s PGA Show. It took the Show by storm.”
-Tony Leodora, host of the Golf Talk Live radio show.
“High Heat’s whole face is a sweet spot. This driver is phenomenal.”
–Those Weekend Golf Guys Radio Show on Golf Talk America at the PGA show.
“The (High Heat) driver could be the answer to your first-tee prayers.”
–Golf Writer Tony Dear
“It’s incredible; Powerful. Probably 20-30 yards longer than my current driver.”
–James Stammer, Wednesday Night Golf Show.
“We definitely recommend High Heat because it is the hottest driver on the market. Longer and straighter than major brands. These benefits are based on brilliant science. Remarkable. Unlike any other driver.”
–Tee It up National Radio Network.
“This is such a great driver! Oh my gosh, I have added at least 40 yards longer.”
–Camille, 10 handicap with average driving distance of 200 yards. San Diego, CA
“My good drives average about 260 yards with my driver. When I hit High Heat it consistently went about 280 yards and almost every one of them would have landed in the fairway. It was the best driver I have ever hit by far.”
Robert Carl, 3 handicap, Erlanger Kentucky
“I hit your driver all over the face, straight every time. I hit every major brand driver at [Golf Fest San Diego] and I was all over the place. I came back to hit your High Heat driver and straight every time again despite hitting all over the face.”
Tom Liscum, 20 handicap. Spring Valley, CA.
High Heat’s lower CG is very important,” said Knuth. “Amateurs regularly hit in the area above High Heat’s CG and regularly below the major brands’ average CG location. Tests have proven that drives are longer when hit above a driver’s CG compared to hitting below the CG.”
Knuth Golf’s Fire Zone Face Technology includes a unique face with a combination of seven different zones of variable thickness, including patented “parabolic” lobes at the top of the toe and heel of the face. This increases spring-like effect across the entire sweet spot zone while still conforming to USGA Rules and increasing the accuracy of High Heat.
High Heat was tested against the major brands by Golf Laboratories, which is the world’s leading independent, robotic testing facility, and used by Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, and several major brands. Golf Laboratories test results show that High Heat was longer, straighter, and had more forgiveness than the major brands. Golfers who have tried High Heat’s prototypes have raved about its performance on center and off-center hits, and its look, feel and distinctive sound of power.
