PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Keiser University College of Golf & Sport Management (COGSM) hosted the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) recently for its Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) exam preparation workshop. The workshop delivered a blend of classroom lecture and hands-on training for attendees seeking to help athletes improve athletic performance.
More than 20 participants from across the country attended the two-day event to learn the skills and education needed to successfully obtain the highly coveted field certification. The CSCS allows professionals to design and implement strength training and conditioning programs for athletes in a team setting.
NSCA-CSCS Exam Prep Manager Kathryn Russell conducted the workshop, and Keiser University COGSM faculty Rick Leitner, Robert Maxwell and Julie Snyder of the Sports Medicine & Fitness Technology Programs and James Gegenheimer of the Dietetics and Nutrition Program were also present.
“The Strength & Conditional certification workshop was a great opportunity for the attendees to learn the latest research in the field and it was an excellent way for us to showcase the unique facilities and professional staff here at Keiser University College of Golf & Sport Management,” says John McMurry, Campus Vice-President of Keiser University College of Golf & Sport Management.
