CARLSBAD, Calif. (May 18, 2015) – Nippon Shaft recorded two victories on Sunday – one at the European Tour’s Open de España in Barcelona and the other at the Web.com Tour’s BMW Charity Pro-Am in Greer, South Carolina.
The Englishman won his second European Tour event at Real Club de Golf El Prat, with Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 TX flex steel shafts in both his irons and wedges. He shot 70-71-68-69-278 for a 10-under par total, and earned ?250,000. He was the eighth Englishman to win the event since it began 44 years ago, and the first since 2003. The victory moved him from 296th on the World Rankings list to just outside 160th.
Several hours later on the Web.com Tour, the Australian used Nippon Shaft’s N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 130 S flex steel shafts in his Srixon Z irons and his Cleveland wedges to record a wire-to-wire win at the BMW Charity Pro-Am at Thornblade Country Club, one of three courses used for the event.
The champion shot a total of 25-under par for a two-stroke victory, and earned $121,000. He jumped on the rest of the field with opening rounds of 63-63 and shot 69-66 on the weekend for a total of 261. He also led his fellow competitors in birdies with 29, seven on the final day.
