Colonial Williamsburg’s Awe-Inspiring Golden Horseshoe Golf Club Offers Sizzling Summer Rates & Twilight Golf On Three Courses

June 4, 2015

Williamsburg, Va. (June 2, 2015) – Playing Colonial Williamsburg’s awe-inspiring Golden Horseshoe Golf Club courses can become addictive, particularly with the new reduced rates for the summer and remarkable array of options for rest and relaxation.

Travelers looking to cure their “golf vacation jones” will find no better remedy than the Golden Horseshoe’s classic Gold Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., and challenging Green Course, designed by his son, Rees Jones. Both layouts are walkable, always enjoyable and now even more affordable.

From June 15 through Sept. 3, rates for the Gold Course will drop to only $134 Monday through Thursday and $154 Friday through Sunday. The Green Course rates will also drop to $69 Monday through Thursday and $89 Friday through Sunday. (Twilight rates are $89 for the Gold Course and $59 for the Green Course, beginning at 1:30 p.m. daily.) Rates are even lower for guests staying in an official Colonial Williamsburg hotel.

Ranked among the “Top 100 Resort Courses in America” by Golfweek Magazine, the Jones’ creations are the centerpiece of a club that also includes access to additional Colonial Williamsburg recreation, dining and hotel options, The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg and more. Together they offer an ideal location for a summer escape, or a weekend golf getaway any time of year (since Colonial Williamsburg hotel guests enjoy reduced green fees no matter the season).

Completely free of surrounding real estate, the Gold and Green courses are looped through mature woodlands within a protected natural environment that has earned the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

These past hosts of the PGA Tour, NCAA and USGA Championships, the Gold and Green courses also have been named to the “Top 100 You Can Play” and “America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses” lists.

The club also features the popular executive-length Spotswood Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., which is only $39 per round March through November, and $38 November through March.

Revenue from golf play on Golden Horseshoe Golf Club’s three public courses supports The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s mission to educate future generations and keep American history alive and thriving.
