VACAVILLE, CA – The Northern California PGA Foundation is proud to announce the winners of its Jim Langley Scholarship in honor of Mr. Langley who held a 34-year career as the PGA Head Professional at Cypress Point Club and passed away in 2013. • Allison Gaskill of Robert McQueen High School in Reno, NV
• Mabel Wong of Oakdale High School in Oakdale, CA
• Louis Euer of Del Oro High School in Loomis, CA
The Jim Langley Scholarship Fund selects award recipients based on academic achievement, community service, character, financial need, and golf playing ability. All of the recipients possess leadership skills, a strong work ethic, perseverance, integrity, and compassion.

The Jim Langley Scholarship Fund
Through the NCPGA Scholarship Program, the Jim Langley Scholarship Fund is able to support and encourage continuing education by assisting students residing within the bounds of the NCPGA Section with post-secondary schooling. Graduating high school seniors are provided with a means to achieve their dreams and promote the fundamental values that this great game has to offer. Traditionally, scholarships of $2,000 each are awarded to one male and one female student. This year, the NCPGA Foundation Board of Directors had a tie vote among the female candidates and rather than split the $2,000 between them, they decided to offer each $1,500.
Allison Gaskill
Gaskill will attend Cal Lutheran University in the fall, where she will compete on the college team. While her major is undecided, she is considering a career as a financial advisor or a college women’s golf coach.

Academically she has an exceptional GPA, managing a course load of Advanced Placement and Honors classes. She was an integral part of the high school Leadership Team, organizing and managing numerous successful events.
She is passionate about serving the community and participated on a mission in June 2014 in Los Angeles on behalf of Grace Church Reno. There she volunteered at a day care center, retirement home, food bank, and homeless shelter. Locally, she has helped clean up parks for Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, volunteered at a homeless shelter on Record Street, and spent time helping at the Seratoma Senior Citizens Center. Combining her community service with her passion for golf, she often gives back to the Junior Program at Somersett Golf and Country Club, where she began lessons at age 11.
Mabel Wong
Wong is determined to get her LPGA Tour card. In the meantime, she plans to pursue a Data Sciences degree at the University of San Francisco, where she also plans to play college golf.

A leader among her peers, Wong founded and is President of the Oakdale High Students in Action (Anti-Bullying Club) since 2013. She was a member of the Congressional Youth Leadership Council, National Youth Leadership Forum, National Young Leaders State Conference, and the National Society of High School Scholars.

Euer plans to pursue a degree in Business Administration at California State University – Sacramento and work in the field of Human Resources Management. He takes golf lessons at Haggin Oaks Golf Course in Sacramento and began employment there in summer 2014 as an Assistant Instructor for the Junior Golf Programs through the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) Internship Program.
