PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C., December 8, 2015 – Caledonia Golf and Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club – two of the top courses in Myrtle Beach – have been named to Golf Channel Travel Editor Matt Ginella’s Top 50 Public Golf Courses in the U.S. Caledonia ranked No. 14, while True Blue came in at No. 42.

Caledonia was the third-highest rated course in South Carolina and top-ranked course along the Grand Strand. True Blue ranked ahead of eight other notable courses, including two courses from Hawaii.

“We are humbled and appreciative of all of the acclaim and support we have received since opening our courses nearly twenty years ago,” said Bob Seganti, PGA director of golf operations Caledonia and True Blue Golf Clubs. “Being included on Matt Ginella’s Top 50 list is a tremendous honor. We know that it means we are doing what we set out to do – giving Grand Strand golfers a great place to play and a reason to return.”

Courses were selected based on specific criteria. The courses needed to have a fun-factor to them, and have a prestigious history. Additionally, Ginella ranked courses based on hole variety, if the course could be walked and if it offered a caddie service.

Ginella is one of the most respected writers in the golf industry and has previously held positions at Golf Digest and Golf World.

True Blue and Caledonia were both designed by award-winning architect, Mike Strantz, and were developed to fully embrace the natural beauty of their Lowcountry surroundings. The courses are carefully maintained to provide players with world-class golf experiences. Both courses remain two of the most prestigious courses along the Grand Strand and annually rank in all major golf publications “Best of” and “Top 100” Lists.
