Golf Magazine Names Ironhorse Golf Club Among Top 5 ?"Best Courses You Can Play In Kansas"

September 30, 2016

Scottsdale, Ariz. (September 28, 2016) – Ironhorse Golf Club in Leawood, Kansas was recently ranked among the top five public golf courses in Kansas in GOLF Magazine’s biannual ranking of “Best Courses You Can Play in Kansas.” Every two years, GOLF Magazine ranks the top golf courses you can play in each state. The list is determined by a panel of 100 raters that includes major winners, course architects, journalists and golf connoisseurs.
“This honor is a tribute to our incredible staff, Troon Golf and of course, the outstanding golf course here at Ironhorse,” said Troy Newport, general manager, Ironhorse Golf Club. “Kansas has a number of great golf courses. To be recognized as one of the state’s best by GOLF Magazine, is an awesome honor.”
Since opening in 1995, Ironhorse Golf Club has been recognized as one of the top golf facilities in Kansas by Golf World magazine, Golf Advisor, Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine. The Michael Hurdzan-designed course is the only Troon-managed facility in the Kansas City metro area. The club is currently adding 5,400 square feet of banquet and meeting space to the existing clubhouse. When complete, the banquet facility will have incredible golf course views, making it the perfect location for weddings, receptions and social gatherings. A course-wide bunker renovation project is also scheduled for this fall and will include new liners and new white sand.
