PLEASANTON, Calif. – Not every garage born technology company in the Silicon Valley is high-tech related. Entrepreneur and avid golfer, Tom Masucci, invented the ChipTrainer because tech and traffic in Northern California made it difficult to get to the course and maintain his short game. ChipTrainer is launching at the 2017 PGA Fashion Show & Demo Experience Aug. 14-16 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. The device allows golfers to simulate stance, ball position, posture, and grip for the short game while getting instant feedback on shot quality.

Consider these statistics according to short game guru, Dave Pelz, when it comes to scrambling and the short game. Tour professionals get up and down 60 percent of the time when they miss a green. Scratch golfers 30 percent of the time – half as likely as the pros. The percentages drop off significantly – 15 percent for 10 handicappers and less than 10 percent for 20 handicappers. If you want to lower your scores and save pars, it is critical to practice your short game shots.

ChipTrainer is the only training device designed to specifically improve your approach shots. With proper technique and modest practice, it’s common to reduce scores by four to eight shots within a couple weeks of use.

“When you step into the ChipTrainer, the detailed practice mat shows golfers exactly how to set up to pitch and chip,” explained Mark J. Dorcak, PGA Professional for more than 30 years and short game instructor at Spring Valley Golf Course, Milpitas, Calif. “ChipTrainer identifies your hip alignment, shoulder angle, ball position, and reminds you to keep your weight on the left side and hands in front of the ball. This product makes it very simple to learn the proper way to chip and lower your scores.”

The ChipTrainer Instructional System is a six-part indoor-outdoor lesson program that promotes accelerated learning of short-game shots from just off the green. The concepts are easy to understand, implement and repeat. Within a single lesson, it’s common to understand how the pros make it look so easy.

ChipTrainer teaches the basic fundamentals of approach shots – stance, ball position, posture and grip – that are applicable to all shots around the green. (The device does not simulate bunker shots).

Just like practicing basketball free throws away from the gym, ChipTrainer builds confidence and visualization that can be rehearsed and practiced at home or the office.

ChipTrainer retails for $129.99 and comes with target mat, stand and stance mat. Special pricing for PGA professionals. For more information, visit www.chiptrainer.com or contact Tom Masucci, 925-200-0433.
