Belleville, N.J. May 7, 2018 — Former New York Giant Super Bowl Champion David Diehl, a current “NFL on FOX” Game Analyst, will once again serve as host of the 4th Annual Clara Maass Medical Center Golf Invitational to be held at Montclair Golf Club in West Orange on Monday, May 14th.
The 2018 event will kick-off with a celebrity brunch at 10:30 am, followed by a shotgun start at 12:30pm and concludes with a cocktail/awards reception at 6pm. At the 2017 event, which featured a line-up of celebrities, current NFL players and several of Diehl’s former NY Giants teammates, more than $300,000 was raised to support patient services and pediatrics programs at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville.
“David’s passion to promote healthy living, while always going the extra mile to support pediatric programs and other initiatives at Clara Maass Medical Center reinforce why he is such a wonderful ambassador for RWJBarnabas Health,” said Mary Ellen Clyne, PhD, President and Chief Executive Officer, Clara Maass Medical Center. “It’s refreshing to see David play such an active role, in support of the communities we serve.”
Diehl, who spent his entire 11-year NFL career with the New York Giants, won two Super Bowl Championships (2008 and 2012) and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2009. In 2012, David was also the recipient of the prestigious Wellington Mara NFL Man of the Year Award. An Essex County resident, Diehl currently serves as an ambassador for healthy living for RWJBarnabas Health, and the communities they serve. Diehl is also a spokesperson for the Matthew J. Morahan, III Health Assessment Center for Athletes, helping to raise awareness about concussion education and the importance of screenings with young athletes.
A limited number of golf playing spots are available for foursomes or individual golfers interested in participating in the event. Additionally, exclusive sponsorship opportunities are available, highlighted by golfing with a celebrity or attending the exclusive David Diehl and Friend’s Celebrity Brunch and cocktail/awards reception, among others.
