Also, the company will debut the Winn Junior Cup Challenge, a tournament series featuring select events across the country. … Cool Golf Marathon: The 11th annual charitable event raised more than $39,900 for the Irving Healtcare Foundation. The charitable event, held Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Four Seasons Resort and Club in Dallas, TX, featured seven Northern Texas PGA members and one former chairman of the board of Four Seasons Resort and Club playing five rounds of golf from dawn until dusk to reach the set goal of making 100 “Birdies for Barry.” The event was named after long-time club member and friend Barry Roberts, who recently passed away of cancer. … Patriot Golf Day: The third annual event, which benefits the Folds of Honor Foundation and the families of wounded and fallen military veterans, raised more than $1.9 million nationwide. … PGA of America: The organization presented a $10,000 donation to the Bayou District Foundation Junior Golf Program. The funds help support the curriculum, equipment and instructors that are committed to supporting and expanding youth golf access in New Orleans.

AMENDMENTS MADE TO ENTRY CRITERIA AHEAD OF 2010 OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

Royal and Ancient Golf Club: Changes have been made to the entry criteria for the Open Championship’s 150th anniversary, to be played at St. Andrews next year. A new exemption category has been introduced and the condition exempts from qualifying any past Open champions who finished in the top 10 and ties in any of the previous five Open Championships, thus effectively providing them with a five-year exemption into the championship.
