Six Selected For USGA Fellowship

Six recent college graduates, representing a wide variety of interests and academic backgrounds, joined the U.S. Golf Association‘s Fellowship in Leadership and Service program this past June.

The six new Fellows are: Blair Bodine (Columbia University) of Philadelphia, Pa.; Josh Gelfand (University of Pennsylvania) of DuBois, Pa.; Erica Goodman (Middlebury College) of Fort Ann, N.Y.; Gennessa Guzman (University of Kentucky) of Covina, Calif.; Matt Keys (Dickinson College) of Carlisle, Pa..; and Amanda Wilson (Michigan State University) of Portage, Mich.

The Eric Dickerson Celebrity Challenge, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 30, at Empire Lakes Golf Course in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., will feature Julius Erving and Jim Brown in its field. … Cutter & Buck adds two new regional golf sales representatives — Mark Dillard and Bryan Kennedy. Dillard will be responsible for golf accounts in Alabama and the Florida panhandle; Kennedy will be responsible for south Texas and Louisiana. … Billy Casper Golf announces that Travis Kane is the new general manager of the Everett, Wash., municipal golf courses — Walter Hall and Legion Memorial. … Armadillo Golf Players, Austin, Texas’ Co-Ed golf league, will host the first "Walk Fore Your Heart" tournament, Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Harvey Penick Golf Campus to raise money for the American Heart Association. … Hidden Links, a golf tour operator to the British Isles and based in Atlanta, Ga., reports that handled the arrangements to the recent Ryder Cup for the official Kentucky delegation as the Ryder Cup hosts in 2008. … PGA European Tour Courses announces that Macreddin Golf Club in County Wicklow, Ireland, is to become a member of its group of championship golf venues. … The Britteny Sage Lindt Charity Golf Tournament will be held at the Lantana Golf Club in Lantana, Texas, Monday, Oct. 30. This tournament hopes to raise awareness toward the fight of drinking and boating laws. Funds raised will go toward fighting drinking and boating laws and scholarships in Lindt’s name. She was killed in a boating accident in 2006.

Dick's Sporting Goods Open to be held at En-Joie Golf Course

Broome County Community Charities Inc. announces that it will host a Champions Tour event, the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, at the En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott, N.Y., July 9-15. The tournament will feature a purse of $1.6 million.

Gary Player Design to Debut in Canada

Gary Player Design announced its first design foray into Canada with two golf course projects in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada.
