Under Armour Inc. posted third quarter profits on strong sales gains, but it slightly lowered its full-year outlook due to the economic environment. In the third quarter, net revenues increased 24.1 percent to $231.9 million from $186.9 million a year ago. Third quarter net income increased 28.1 percent to $25.7 million, or 51 cents a share, from $20.0 million, or 40 cents, a year ago. … Kentucky State Parks add the “Chip Shot” golf package now available at 10 parks across the state. The “Chip Shot” package includes overnight lodging and 18 holes of golf with a cart for $59 a person from Nov. 1, 2008 through March 31, 2009. From April 1 through Oct. 31, 2009, the cost will be $79 per person, based on double occupancy. … The Junior Golf Association of Arizona unveils its Linkster Golf Program, created for youth golfers ages 5-14, that offers instruction through clinics and one-on-one sessions with seasoned PGA and LPGA golf instructors. … Phelps/Atkinson Golf Design is overseeing extensive renovations to a pair of Spokane County (Wash.) owned courses. Construction started Sept. 15 at Liberty Lake Golf Course, a 50-year-old layout that is undergoing a $4.5-million facelift due to be finished in spring 2010. Also, work began Sept. 2 at Hangman Valley Golf Club on tee, bunker and regrassing work. are the emphasis at 40-year-old Hangman Valley, where renovations are expected to cost about $750,000 and plans are to reopen in spring 2009. … Newark Country Club in Newark, Del, retains Colin Mack-Allen as its general manager.
