BAY HILL CLUB & LODGE VENUE EARNS COVETED WINE SPECTATOR AWARD
Restaurant at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge named among global top spots for wine lovers in Wine Spectator’s 2019 Dining Guide
Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge has been honored for its outstanding wine program with a Wine Spectator 2019 Restaurant Award of Excellence. The award celebrates the world’s top destinations for wine lovers and acknowledges the work of the Bay Hill team, including Certified Sommelier Lindsey Haluska and Executive Director of Food & Beverage Mary Hornbeck, specifically with regard to the Wine Menu at Bay Hill’s Bay Window restaurant.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the team here at Bay Hill,” said Hornbeck. “Our members and guests enjoy a relaxed, high-quality lifestyle, living life to the fullest and having fun. We work hard to meet and to exceed their expectations with great amenities and service, and this award acknowledges the high standards to which we work every day and the great lifestyle we offer everyone who comes to Bay Hill, whether they’re a member or a guest who’s booked a room in our Lodge.”
“In creating our wine list we focused on both quality and diversity,” said Bay Hill Sommelier Lindsey Haluska. “Our members and guests are a discerning bunch, but they’re unpretentious and they enjoy having a range of options. Our list allows them to explore the globe and to enjoy some of the best wines available, enhancing any occasion whether it’s an elegant dinner complemented by an exquisite option from the top of the list or a casual glass with friends by our outdoor firepit.”
The Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.
“We’re pleased to shine a spotlight on the destinations around the world that show devotion to their wine program,” said Marvin R. Shanken, Editor and Publisher, Wine Spectator. “Both novice wine lovers and seasoned sommeliers alike actively seek and frequent restaurants with exciting, well-curated wine lists. Bravo to all the 2019 recipients—we raise a glass to you.”
Wine Spectator began its program to recognize the world’s best wine lists in 1981. The complete list of 2019 award winners is available in print in Wine Spectator’s August issue, on newsstands July 16, and online at Restaurants.WineSpectator.com. The full list is also available for free on iOS via the Restaurant Awards app.
