Cleats Win Again on PGA Tour, European Tour
BRENTWOOD, Tenn.,– The winners on the PGA Tour and the European Tour this week both claimed victory in replaceable cleat technology from Pridesports brands Softspikes® and Champ®. One climbed into the top 10 in the World Golf Rankings, and the other picked up his second victory of the 2020 season.
“This was another week on the major professional tours with multiple wins by players choosing the traction, stability and control provided by replaceable cleats,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports. “Players who are winning, climbing in the world rankings and rising in the FedEx Cup standings are choosing the proven technology of cleats over spikeless tennis shoes.”
The winner at the PGA Tour’s Mayakoba Golf Classic earned his second win in three weeks wearing FootJoy® Fury shoes with Softspikes® Pulsar cleats. On the leaderboard, 19 of the top 25 finishers chose cleats over spikeless footwear.
At the European Tour’s Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa, the winner chose Nike Vapor 2 footwear with Champ® Pivix cleats, claiming his first win and first top-10 world ranking of 2019.
Replacement Softspikes® and Champ® cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from www.golfspikes.com.
PrideSports is the undisputed leader in the golf cleat segment with its CHAMP® and Softspikes® brands. The company recommends golfers change their cleats every six to eight months – or even more frequently based on use – to ensure golfers get the maximum performance out of their footwear.
CHAMP’s Helix®, Zarma Tour® and Stinger® cleats, as well as Softspikes’ Pivix®, Pulsar®, Silver Tornado® and Stealth® cleats, dominate the OEM and secondary market in terms of performance and sales. More information can be found at www.champspikes.com and www.Softspikes.com.
