Club Champion to Exhibit at 2020 PGA Merchandise Show

Company seeks to expand fitting staff and recruit teaching pros for its referral program

Willowbrook, IL — Club Champion, the nation’s #1 premium club fitter, builder and retailer of golf clubs, will exhibit for the first time at the 2020 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando. Five years ago, the company only had eight retail locations. After establishing proof of concept, a rapid expansion has led to 70 locations currently open and another dozen planned for 2020.

The company has two primary goals in attending the show. First, the massive expansion has created a need to drastically expand its legion of fitters. It’s a tremendous opportunity for people in the industry and individuals looking to enter the business of golf with the fastest growing company in the golf world. Secondly, the company seeks to expand the roster of PGA, LPGA and teaching professionals enrolled in its referral program.

Club Champion is eager to find people who love golf, love equipment, are into technology and have some sales experience. “Though we prefer people with experience, we are willing to train motivated individuals who want to learn and are coachable, those looking to take a career motivated path,” states Director of Recruiting and Human Resources, Amanda Bosley.

From the financial perspective: “There are opportunities for upward mobility and in addition to their salaries, fitters receive additional sales incentives,” CEO Joe Lee said. “There are opportunities across the nation as well as flexibility for relocation, especially with the overall growth and expansion of Club Champion.”

On the referral front, when a teaching professional partners with Club Champion to assist with club fitting, they receive a lifetime commission on referred sales. Says world-renowned instructor David Leadbetter, “You have members and clients who are searching for something extra that will improve their game and they often go outside of your facility to find it. Club Champion’s PGA/LPGA Professional Partnership Program allows them to receive a Tour-level club fitting while you generate additional revenue. No matter the skill level, your golfers will thank you for suggesting custom-fitted clubs.”

The aim of the referral program is not shift business away from pros, but rather to elevate a golfer’s experience in conjunction with their professional. “Club Champion has been a tremendous asset for us in servicing our membership. The fitting experts and resources that Club Champion can provide enhance and reinforce the overall fitting experience for our members,” relates Bob Rittberger, PGA Head Golf Professional, Garden City Golf Club (NY).
