Qualified Independent Clubfitters and Golf Professionals Can Now Fit and Sell the Breakthrough Performance of Edison Forged Wedges.
San Antonio, Texas – Following an extremely successful product launch in April and soaring consumer sales, Edison Forged Wedges are now being made available to independent clubfitters and golf professionals who want to provide their golfers with the most accurate, forgiving and consistent wedges ever developed. The announcement was made by Edison Chairman and Director of Innovation, Terry Koehler.
“My history in the golf industry has shown a commitment to the independent clubfitters and golf professionals around the world,” proclaimed Koehler. “We’ve proven that conventional ‘tour design’ wedges fall far short of the Edison Forged wedges where it counts – penetrating trajectories, distance consistency, spin and overall forgiveness. Our design beats everything else on the market today.”
At the core of the Edison Forged wedge design is a dramatically different weighting system that looks very different from traditional wedges. They also feature the scientifically proven “Koehler sole” and Edison’s durable chrome finish that extends the useful life of the grooves and face texture.
For more than 30 years, Koehler has raised the bar for wedge performance multiple times through his designs bearing the names Reid Lockhart®, EIDOLON®, SCOR™ and Ben Hogan®. He has repeatedly used robotic testing on the top brands of ‘tour design’ wedges in his quest to improve golfer’s short game performance. Edison Forged wedges were born from the scientific proof that poor distance control, insufficient spin and excessively high ball flight are built into every ‘tour design’ wedge in the industry today.
“I’ve been testing wedges on Iron Byron for nearly 20 years,” explains Koehler. “And I keep seeing the same things over and over and over. The challenges that most golfers have in prime scoring range are actually ‘built-in’ to the traditional design of wedges. I have the data to prove it.”
History has proven that outside-the-box thinking has repeatedly led to category disruptions in golf because superior performance always wins the day. Golfers have benefited from breakthroughs in golf equipment design and performance such as the Ping® Anser®, TaylorMade® metalwoods, Big Bertha® driver, cavity back irons, graphite shafts, big mallet putters and more.
What puzzles Koehler the most is why the wedge category hasn’t developed this kind of innovation and complete product re-designs. His life’s work has followed the pursuit of that sea change; focusing on the way wedges are designed and the performance they deliver.
“I’ve built a reputation for challenging ‘conventional wisdom’,” asserts Koehler. “In the wedge category, traditional ‘tour designs’ don’t benefit the vast majority of golfers, so I created the Edison Forged wedge design to deliver more consistent performance, shot to shot and round to round, regardless of a golfer’s skill and talent level.”
The new Edison Certified WedgeFitter program allows independent clubfitters and golf professionals to fit and sell Edison Forged wedges. Certified WedgeFitters will be able to purchase finished clubs or genuine Edison Forged heads to be built at the WedgeFitter’s facility. Interested clubfitters and golf professionals should contact Edison Golf’s WedgeFitter service desk at WedgeFitters@EdisonWedges.com for information or call 800-410-1934 and to set up their account.
“Very simply, the Edison Forged wedges were designed to improve scoring range performance for golfers of all skill levels,” proclaims Koehler. “No other wedges come close to these in bringing forgiveness to a category not known for it.”
