The changes, which were voted and agreed upon by the Association’s Championship Committee, will affect exemptions for both local and sectional qualifying for the U.S. Open and sectional qualifying for the U.S. Women’s Open. The Committee also approved changes in exemptions for players in amateur championships.

Xempt Player Series Provides New Opportunities For Hungry Pro Golfers
Xempt Player Series: Announces its formation. The series is designed to give assistance to players attempting to qualify for the PGA, LPGA and Champions tours. There will be 32 local qualifiers, five regional qualifiers and the $200,000 XPS Championship, Aug. 8-11.
