FlightScope Users Matthew Wolff and Bryson DeChambeau Finish 1-2 at 3M Open
FlightScope – global leader in tracking and analyzing sports performance data – congratulates Matthew Wolff and Bryson DeChambeau on their winner and runner-up finishes at this past weekend’s 3M Open, contested at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, MN.
Both Wolff and DeChambeau utilize FlightScope’s popular X3 Launch Monitor to plan and prepare for competition, as do their respective swing coaches, George Gankas and Mike Schy. Wolff’s victory comes in just his fourth PGA TOUR start, making him the youngest TOUR winner since Jordan Spieth at the 2013 John Deere Classic. His 26-foot eagle putt on the par-5 finishing hole capped a final round 65 and topped DeChambeau by one shot. Just six weeks ago, he secured the NCAA Individual title, lapping the field en route to a five-shot victory at the notoriously difficult Blessings Golf Club in Arkansas.
“It’s a dream to be out here and I’m just fortunate to be doing what I love,” said Wolff following his win. “I told myself I need to hit a lot of drivers and be aggressive. That’s what I did, I attacked a lot of pins and I guess it worked out.”
The win generated plenty of buzz on the course and off. Jack Nicklaus took to Twitter to congratulate the victorious rookie and DeChambeau, who had a front row seat to the dramatics, embraced Wolff on his way to the scoring trailer. Just a few events into his career, Wolff is growing a loyal contingent of supporters known as “The Wolffpack.” With his win comes a two-year exemption on the PGA TOUR and entry into the 2019 FedEx Cup Playoffs.
FlightScope’s X3 tracking technology provides several world first benefits to players and instructors, including its ‘Fusion Tracking,’ a combination of 3D tracking and image processing creating unmatched performance data. Newly upgraded software features include Environmental Optimizer technology, another world first which enables players to plan and prepare for specific tournament conditions, without having to leave their home course. FlightScope’s MultiCam App allows golfers to automatically record and sync data from multiple cameras for instant on-screen review.
With accurate, performance-driven technology, FlightScope transforms the way golf is analyzed and how players improve. Beyond Wolff and DeChambeau, the company’s renowned products are trusted by a large and growing number of TOUR players and top teachers, including Bubba Watson and Claude Harmon III.
