CARLSBAD, Calif. (May 7, 2018) – The 2017 LPGA Player of the Year used Nippon Shaft steel shafts in her irons and wedges to win the weather-shortened Volunteers of America LPGA Texas Classic on Sunday.
The 24-year-old South Korean, who won last year’s U.S. Women’s Open, shot 11-under par with rounds of 65-66-131 in the 36-hole event in which she used N.S.PRO 950GH steel shafts in her irons and N.S.PRO MODUS3 Wedge shafts in her wedges.
It was the 132nd tour victory for the MODUS3 shafts, according to the company.
“Nippon Shaft would like to congratulate the winner of the Volunteers of America LPGA Texas Classic on her first LPGA Tour victory of the year and her third overall,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “We are very proud that our N.S.PRO 950GH remains the most popular tour shaft and that our MODUS3 shafts are growing in popularity to help players perform at their highest level.”
The champion prevailed at the Old American Golf Club in The Colony, Texas and now has $291,765 in earnings so far this season.
