NIPPON SHAFT WINS U.S. WOMEN’S OPEN
The winner of yesterday’s 74th U.S. Women’s Open used Nippon Shaft products to author her two-shot victory at the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina.
The 23-year-old South Korean used Nippon Shaft N.S.PRO 850GH steel shafts in her irons and N.S.PRO 950GH steel shafts in her wedges to shoot 6-under par 278 for the week with rounds of 70-69-69-70 at the stunning seaside Seth Raynor layout. It was her first LPGA Tour victory and it came with a winner’s check worth $1 million.
“Nippon Shaft would like to congratulate the winner of the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open on her outstanding accomplishment,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “For 20 years, N.S.PRO models have been the dominant light weight steel shaft series among touring professionals and we are pleased they continue to consistently hold that position among the world’s best.”
It was the second USGA women’s major victory for Nippon Shaft in the last three weeks. On May 19, the 54-year-old Swede used N.S.PRO 950GH steel shafts in her irons and wedges to capture a two-shot victory in the U.S. Senior Women’s Open at Pine Needles in Southern Pines, North Carolina. She finished with a 1-over par total of 285 and won $180,000.
