HEATHROW, FL – The need for advice on how to raise hourly rates has prompted many a golf coach to call or email Proponent Group. Now the guidance long provided one-on-one is available in a comprehensive and carefully organized document for the exclusive use of Proponent Group’s 425 dues-paying members. It’s a 12-page, 2,700-word resource titled “Pricing Optimization: A Guide to Pricing Golf Instruction Services.”
Sections within the new document include three interactive tools. The first two allow an instructor to determine how appropriate a rack-rate increase would be, based on a range of factors, and what size that increase could or should be. The third interactive tool is a rate increase announcement letter in several versions, again based on specific circumstances or preferences, complete with separate email subject lines and customized text.
Backing up these tools is a short treatise examining rate optimization for golf coaches from all relevant angles, including introductory lesson pricing, when to offer a discount, how to price group programming, how to charge for a pre-paid lesson series along with many other pricing nuances.
Instruction industry consultant Andy Hilts was a major contributor to the Pricing Optimizer, both its background analytics and the interactive elements, as well.
“This is a key resource for Proponent members that we’ve been compiling and formulating for some time,” says company founder Lorin Anderson.
“Professions that include many a sole practitioner—accounting, medicine, law and the like—all receive guidance from consultancies, websites and publications on the delicate task of raising per-hour rates,” he notes. “That was never the case for golf instruction until this guide was conceived and written.”
The new Pricing Optimization Guide is now available to all Proponent Group member coaches as a download on the company’s member-only website.
