SAND VALLEY TAPS MICHAEL CARBIENER AS GENERAL MANAGER
20-Year Industry Veteran Returns to the Midwest to Join Team and Oversee Operations for Sand Valley
NEKOOSA, Wisconsin — Sand Valley, a premier golf destination developed by the Keiser family, is pleased to announce that Michael Carbiener has joined the team as general manager. In this role, Carbiener will oversee all resort operations for the growing Midwest destination.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Carbiener brings more than 20 years of experience in the golf and resort industry to his new role at Sand Valley. Most recently, he served as general manager of Secession Golf Club, a private, member-owned club in Beaufort, South Carolina, with more than 800 members and a walking only 18-hole facility. Prior to that, Carbiener served as the general manager of Oswego Lake Country Club in Portland, Oregon.
Carbiener’s career also spans 12 years with KemperSports, including four years as the assistant general manager for Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, a Dream Golf property owned by the Keiser family. During his time with KemperSports, he served as general manager of Independence Golf Club (Midlothian, Virginia) and Holly Hills Country Club (Ijamsville, Maryland) and played a role in some of the most successful property teams in the company’s portfolio. Carbiener was credited with three “Facility of the Year” awards from KemperSports across two properties in 2001, 2002 and 2010.

Carbiener is a graduate of Purdue University and holds a bachelor’s degree in restaurant, hotel and institutional management.
