StrackaLine Scans Lubbock CC, Will Provide Popular Private Facility With Its Industry-Leading Greens Guides
Private Clubs Continue to Embrace StrackaLine Technology
Lubbock Country Club, one of the premier private clubs in West Texas, is the latest course to partner with StrackaLine and will have Tour-quality greens guides created for members of the historic club.
StrackaLine scanned Lubbock CC’s greens, collecting millions of data points on each putting surface, and ran the information through a proprietary software program that created topographical greens maps that are accurate down to the millimeter. The greens maps, which feature easy to read arrows, allow players to view contour and fall lines, in addition to slope percentage, anywhere on the green.
“We are delighted to be providing Lubbock Country Club with StrackaLine’s best-in-the-game Greens Guides,” company president Jim Stracka said. “Private clubs have embraced our Greens Guides, which make for perfect member-guest gifts, in addition to helping improve the experience for players.”
Lubbock Country Club, which opened in 1921, was the first course in the area and remains the region’s finest layout. Playing through rolling fairways and mature trees nourished by the meandering waters of historic Blackwater Draw, the course is just north of downtown Lubbock.
StrackaLine Greens Guides have enjoyed widespread adoption on the PGA, LPGA and Korn Ferry tours, in addition to their use by more than 300 Division I college teams. Buoyed by usage at the highest levels of the game, StrackaLine has enjoyed a corresponding surge in popularity at private country clubs and upscale daily fee courses.
The company scans courses for $1,500 and that includes 100 greens guides for resale. The scanning process takes five hours to complete and is unobtrusive to the golfer experience.
StrackaLine now has 1,000 courses scanned, including some of the nation’s most prominent layouts.
