Golf Academy of America: Reports that Michael McVeigh, who attends its Dallas campus, will attempt to play 11 18-hole rounds of golf in 11 hours on Veterdan’s Day, Nov. 11. The event will raise awareness and funds for Salute Military Golf Association.

Gary Player Invitational: Reports that its recent charitable event in Shanghai, China, raised $1.6 million. The Invitational series will conclude at South Africa’s Sun City Resort, Nov. 14-17.

John Deere Classic: Helped raise a total of $6.32 million for 464 local and regional Quad Cities charities from its 2013 PGA Tour event. A combination of increased tournament revenues and a John Deere Foundation matching grant of $250,000 to the Birdies for Charity Bonus Fund enabled the tournament to provide each participating charity a 10 percent bonus on the pledges collected.

Linda Hartough Golf Landscapes: To sponsor the inaugural Veterans Putting Challenge, to be held Nov. 11 at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club in Southern Pines, NC. Funds will benefit the more than 1,000 disabled and needy veterans and their families living in Moore County, NC.

Gary Player Invitational: To hold its seventh annual event at Shanghai Links in Shanghai, China, Nov. 4-5.

Cleveland Golf, Srixon: Announce their partnership with the Veteran Mental Health Foundation to jointly market the Invisible Wounds Cure Challenge. The primary purpose behind the IWCC is to help generate funds for research studies that will lead to better diagnosis, more effective treatment, and ultimately to a cure for veteran Post Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injuries.

Black Knight International: Announces that Sun International has agreed to a three-year agreement to stage the Gary Player Invitational, which is scheduled for Nov. 14-17.
