DALLAS, TX. — Generational Group, a leading mergers and acquisitions advisory firm for privately held businesses, is pleased to announce that it has signed a strategic endorsement agreement with legendary golfer Tom Watson, who will become Generational’s latest Brand Ambassador.
As one of the greatest golfers in history, Tom Watson won 39 times on the PGA Tour, including eight major championships, placing him sixth on the all-time list of total major championship victories. Watson was named PGA Tour Player of the Year six times, and was the number one ranked player in the world from 1978 to 1982. Watson is also considered one of the greatest links players in history, having won the Open Championship five times while finishing second twice—including in 2009, at age 59.
Watson’s consistency over the decades is also legendary. His is only the second player in history, after Sam Snead, to post a top-20 finish in at least one major championship in five different decades. Playing on the over-50 Champions Tour, he won 14 more times there, including six PGA TOUR Champions major tournaments. He also played on four Ryder Cup teams and captained the American side to victory in 1993 at The Belfry in England.
On a personal level, Watson is known for his integrity, sincerity, and professionalism. As Barron’s recently noted Watson’s sincere demeanor “embraces the dignity of a sport soaked in tradition and etiquette.”
In 2022, Watson was named an honorary starter at the Masters, and will continue his honorary role at this year’s event.
