Tour Edge Exotics CBX metalwoods continued their remarkable success Sunday on the leader board at the Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship, the fourth major event of the year on the PGA Tour Champions.
Exotics CBX hybrid staff player Scott McCarron finished 4th while fellow staffers Duffy Waldorf and Bart Bryant both finished 6th at Exmoor Country Club on the north shore of Chicago. Staffers Rocco Mediate finished 20th while Scott Dunlap finished 24th, giving Tour Edge five Top 25 finishes at the major event.
McCarron and Bryant entered the final round tied for first place, while Waldorf tied for the lowest round of Sunday with an 8-under-par 64, shooting him up the leaderboard.
In the four major events played on the 2018 PGA Tour Champions, professionals playing Tour Edge Exotics have now earned three runner-up finishes, seven Top 5 finishes and 10 Top 10 finishes.
“Having three of our staff players finish in the top six of a major event is what we have come to expect from players utilizing our high-technology metalwoods,” said Founder and President of Tour Edge David Glod. “We just had a streak end at seven straight Champions events with a win or a 2nd place finish for professionals playing Exotics. This was an unprecedented streak for us, so hats off to all that participated and made such a phenomenal run happen. We now have three players using Exotics in the Top 10 and six players in the Top 25 of the Charles Schwab Cup money standings, so it seems everyone has seen a boost from playing Exotics.”
Since the launch of Exotics CBX to the PGA Tour Champions, over 40 players have put the CBX fairway woods, hybrids and/or iron-woods into play.
Nine players playing Tour Edge are currently ranked in the Top 35 in the 2018 Charles Schwab Cup standings: #5 Scott McCarron, #9 Tim Petrovic, #10 Non-Contracted Player, #14 Tom Lehman, #21 Rocco Mediate, #25 Duffy Waldorf, #29 Non-Contracted Player, #30 Scott Dunlap, and #32 Bart Bryant.
So far on the 2018 PGA Tour Champions, 192 Exotics clubs have been in play, leading to three victories, 19 Top 5’s and 34 Top 10’s for the players choosing to play the metalwoods.
Exotics CBX ranked as the #2 hybrid model in play at the Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship. The fifth and final major of the year on PGA Tour Champions takes place July 26th through July 30th when the Senior Open Championship visits the Old Course at St. Andrews.
About Exotics CBX
Exotics CBX are the only metal woods ever designed to feature a Titanium face, stainless steel body and carbon fiber sole. The Exotics CBX hybrid’s higher CG is located slightly forward in the club head through the use of a carbon fiber in the sole, which is significantly lighter than stainless steel. This helps to increase ball speed and reduce spin, which makes for less dispersion.
Tour Edge’s extremely thin Beta-titanium cup-face enlarges the ideal hitting area on the clubs. It is brazed to stainless steel behind the hitting area which allows the face to flex more at impact, while the Speed Ramp sole design provides reduced turf interaction so the club can maintain its speed through the hitting area. The Tour Edge Exotics CBX fairway woods, Exotics CBX hybrids and Exotics CBX Iron-Woods are currently available at select authorized Tour Edge retailers.
