Brentwood, Tenn., – Softspikes® were once again on the feet of the leading player on the PGA Tour this weekend, with the winner of the John Deere Classic, wearing Tour Flex Pro spikes in his Nike TW golf shoes, capturing a maiden title in his 63rd start on Tour.
A 6-under par 29 on the front nine at TPC Deere Run propelled the 25-year-old ahead of the stacked field en route to a final round 7-under par round of 64 and a four-shot victory. The Georgia native becomes the 25th PGA Tour winner to do so wearing spikes in the last 28 PGA Tour events. It was also another strong week for Softspikes, with 36 of the top 46 finishers at the John Deere Classic choosing replaceable spikes over spikeless golf shoes.
“It’s always fantastic to see new names winning on Tour and especially pleasing when we see new winners achieve their dreams, trusting the all-round performance of the No.1 spike on Tour, Tour Flex Pro.” commented Joe Henderson, President, Softspikes.
Tour players change grips and traction regularly based on course conditions, but amateur golfers rarely think about the impact wearing spikes has on consistency and distance. To achieve optimal performance benefits, golfers should be switching up their spikes every 15 rounds.
