Scottsdale, Ariz. (May 3, 2018) – Troon®, the leader in golf course management, development, and marketing, has been selected to manage the Champion Hills Club, a private golf club in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Set in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, Champion Hills is a member-owned club and will be managed by Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon. Although the club and the community’s Property Owner’s Association are separate entities, the club’s general manager will have oversight over both business operations.
The Champion Hills Club is the centerpiece of the 730-acre Champion Hills residential community and Dana Schultz, a 19-year veteran of Troon, has recently been named as the club’s new general manager. The Tom Fazio-designed, 18-hole par-71 golf course opened for play in 1991 and is ranked by Golf Digest as one of the top private courses in North Carolina. The course is set an elevation of 2,500 to 3,000 feet, allowing for year-round play while providing four season beauty.
“We’re honored to be working with a club community that is so well-regarded for its exceptional hospitality and amenities,” said Bruce Glasco, executive vice president and COO, Troon.
In addition to its award-winning golf course, Champion Hills also features a 25,000 square foot clubhouse with multiple dining options; a new fitness center with classes and personal training; two lighted Har-Tru tennis courts; a heated pool, hydro spa and sun deck; Bocce ball courts; and 18 miles of marked and well-maintained walking trails.
“The proven expertise and third-party management model now being delivered by Troon Privé provides Champion Hills Club assurance that our improvements in membership growth and member satisfaction will continue, but in a more expedited and comprehensive manner,” said Randy Raup, president of the club’s Board of Governors. “We are very pleased with the quality, professionalism and expertise of the Troon team members already supporting our club.”
The Troon Privé Division currently manages more than 80 private clubs, half of which are member owned. Members of Troon Privé-managed clubs have exclusive access to extraordinary golf and lifestyle benefits around the world. Qualified members receive reciprocal access to other private clubs in the portfolio at a preferred Privé Privilege rate, and tee times at Troon Golf-managed resort and daily fee facilities around the world through the Troon Advantage program. All members can choose to receive Troon Privé Connect, Troon’s digital magazine developed specifically for the private clubs, as well as access to experience packages through Privileged Connections and premium tickets to sporting and concert events at the best price.
