MIAMI, FL: Tyler Collet, PGA Assistant Professional at John’s Island Club in Vero Beach, Florida, will return to competition next week at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, where he will look to defend his title at the PGA Professional Championship.
Collet enters the week as the reigning champion, following a historic performance during the 2025 PGA Professional Championship at PGA Golf Club with a final score of 15-under par, beating Houston’s Jesse Droemer by 10 shots to claim the Walter Hagen Cup. It’s the largest margin of victory for a Champion since Matt Dobyns in 2012, who won by eight strokes.
Collet’s victory placed him among the most dominant players in the event’s history and earned him exemptions into six PGA TOUR events over the past year, allowing him to compete at the highest level of professional golf. As his profile continues to rise, Collet has also aligned with a growing roster of brand partners, most recently signing with MESSY TEDDY as his official apparel sponsor. The Miami-based golf and lifestyle brand joins Hightower Signature Wealth and Guardian Life in supporting Collet’s journey at the highest levels of the game.
“Tyler embodies everything we look for in a modern golfer. He’s competitive, authentic, and deeply connected to the game,” said a representative from Messy Teddy. “He’s not only performing at an elite level, but he represents the everyday golfer in a way that makes him an incredibly natural and impactful brand ambassador for us.”
Collet started the 2026 season with his fourth title on the Minor League Golf Tour at Indian Spring Country Club in Boynton Beach, Florida followed by a win at the Malbon Buckets Cup at Panther National Golf Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He returns to the national stage to defend his title against the strongest field of PGA Professionals in the country.
“I’ve always believed that what you wear on the course should match the level of detail you put into your game,” said Collet. “Messy Teddy delivers on that, from the fit to the fabrics, everything is high quality with a real attention to detail. It’s built for how golfers actually play; and that’s something I really value.”
Collet’s return highlights not only his competitive success in a field of high-level play, but also the opportunity to continue representing PGA Professionals at the highest levels of the game. In doing so, he brings awareness to a unique group of individuals who dedicate their careers to developing the game among green-grass efforts, overseeing instruction, club operations, and the member experience, all while still pursuing excellence in competition. His journey serves as an incredible opportunity to bridge the gap between the everyday golfer and those competing at its highest level.
