Cutter & Buck expands sales staff

Cutter & Buck adds two new regional golf sales representatives, Mark Dillard and Bryan Kennedy. Dillard will be responsible for servicing all golf accounts in Alabama and the Florida panhandle; Kennedy will be charged with south Texas and Louisiana.

Wyndham Worldwide to Sponsor PGA TOUR Event in Greensboro

Wyndham Worldwide Corp. signs a four-year agreement to become the title sponsor of the PGA Tour‘s event in Greensboro, N.C. The inaugural Wyndham Championship will be played Aug. 16-19, 2007, and will culminate the tour’s new season-long FedExCup points competition.

Dick’s Sporting Goods Open to be held at En-Joie Golf Course

Broome County Community Charities Inc. announces that it will host a Champions Tour event, the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, at the En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott, N.Y., July 9-15. The tournament will feature a purse of $1.6 million.

Rounds Dip In August

The National Golf Foundation reports that rounds played dropped 0.8 percent in August 2006 vs. the same period in 2005, based on same-store sales.

Six Selected For USGA Fellowship

Six recent college graduates, representing a wide variety of interests and academic backgrounds, joined the U.S. Golf Association‘s Fellowship in Leadership and Service program this past June.

The six new Fellows are: Blair Bodine (Columbia University) of Philadelphia, Pa.; Josh Gelfand (University of Pennsylvania) of DuBois, Pa.; Erica Goodman (Middlebury College) of Fort Ann, N.Y.; Gennessa Guzman (University of Kentucky) of Covina, Calif.; Matt Keys (Dickinson College) of Carlisle, Pa..; and Amanda Wilson (Michigan State University) of Portage, Mich.

This tournament hopes to raise awareness toward the fight of drinking and boating laws. Funds raised will go toward fighting drinking and boating laws and scholarships in Lindt’s name. She was killed in a boating accident in 2006.
