Mesa, AZ – For Dixon Golf, “Going Green” is not a Public Relations move, but a profitable business decision. With the cost of energy rising, higher efficiency means lower operating costs and higher profit margins, as well as a high demand for eco-friendly products.
Dixon made their mark in the golf industry by introducing the world’s 1st 100% eco-friendly golf ball and has led the golf world into the concept of “Green,” but Dixon Golf is not just introducing “Green” products into the industry. Dixon Golf is minimizing its own carbon footprint and ecological impact through a number of initiatives. Their products are just the tip of the iceberg, everything they do from sales programs to carpooling have the earth in mind.
An incentive program, designed to encourage golfers to get into the practice of recycling golf balls and return spent Dixon Earth golf balls for a $1 discount on future orders, has now been expanded to the retail level. Dixon has decided to convert their retail Point of Purchase displays into Recycling Centers for their retailers.
Dixon Golf made the decision at its inception that it would avoid all unnecessary mailings. Dixon Golf invoices exclusively through electronic mail, has never sent a paper statement, and stores the vast majority of its essential documents electronically. This not only reduces paper waste, but every letter not sent through a courier reduces vehicle emissions that would have released more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Encouraging all their employees to carpool or use public transportation. Over 25% of Dixon Golf employees have opted into carpool and public transportation to further reduce the carbon emissions attributable to Dixon Golf. Non-essential personnel work only four days a week reducing the carbon emissions that they produce in commuting to work by 20%.
The efforts of Dixon Golf to save the earth go beyond just the environment. Dixon Golf also donates 10% of all its profits to charities that help feed the poor, rebuild after natural disasters, educate the illiterate, and perform other worthy efforts to help the world.
Dixon Golf has set the standard of ecological and sociological concern and will continue to be the golf company that leads the industry in its fight to save the earth.
Dixon Earth – Good For The Environment…Better For Your Game!
Unlike other Golf Ball Brands who use harsh heavy-metal pollutants like tungsten, cobalt and lead, and contain non-renewable synthetic materials and compounds; the Dixon Earth golf ball is “green” to the core. The Earth core is made from a proprietary polymer that maintains the playable properties of the ball, but ensures that it is 100% renewable. Even the packaging is made from 100% recycled material. From core to cover, from packaging to production, Dixon Earth is setting a new standard in environmental consciousness.
Amazingly; Dixon didn’t have to sacrifice playability to become environmentally friendly. Just the opposite, the Dixon Earth golf ball actually out-performed several three piece urethane cover balls in competitive testing!
