Tour-proven weighting technology promotes exceptional consistency, benefits players of all skill levels
(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) – Boccieri Golf – maker of award-wining equipment such as the Tour-proven Heavy Putter and Control Series lines – will unveil its latest game-improving counterweighted products, including the Secret Grip and new Heavy Putter belly models, at the 2012 PGA Merchandise Show, January 26-28 in Orlando, FL.
All offerings in Boccieri Golf’s extensive portfolio will be available for testing on Wednesday, January 25, at Orange County National Golf Club during the PGA Show Demo Day and at the Equipment Testing Center (ETC 7) during the main show. One FREE Secret Grip will be given to any participant who tests it and compares results to the exact club outfitted with a standard grip.
New for 2012, the Secret Grip represents a technological breakthrough within its category. Features/benefits include:
• Patented grip compound 40 percent heavier than standard, plus tungsten weight in the butt-end raises a club’s balance point, promoting consistently crisp contact, greater control and distance
• Easy to install on clubs produced by any manufacturer for an instant boost in performance
• One-inch longer than standard, allowing players to choke-down further for improved play around the green or uneven lies
• Built-up lower section often preferred by PGA Tour players makes additional grip tape wrapping obsolete
“Top pros worldwide, including multiple major winners, have relied on counterweighted clubs and we are bringing this beneficial technology to the masses at an affordable price,” says Stephen Boccieri, President and CEO of Boccieri Golf. “Through a long, intensive R&D process, we create products that automatically improve any player’s swing and we invite everyone to experience the benefits of our back-weighting technology and compare to their current clubs.”
Unique to Boccieri Golf is the ability to offer each of its acclaimed Heavy Putter models in a belly or long-shafted version. This variety is unmatched by any other manufacturer. The company’s standard length putters feature additional weight under the grip, but in the longer models this back-weight is modified to accommodate the increased mass of a ski-pole shaft and 21-inch or two piece grips. Adjusted to suit the HEAVY, MID or LITE series, the specifically-placed weight engages the body’s larger muscles for a consistent swing path, uniform pace and precise distance and directional control.
Named “Most Surprising New Clubs” at last year’s PGA Show by GOLF Magazine, the Control Series full-swing clubs are strategically engineered with a 50-gram back-weight in the butt-end of the shaft. Improving tempo and stability, they ensure the club’s sweet spot is delivered consistently to the ball for optimal distance and accuracy. Designed to be played as a full-set, each club shares a matching shaft profile to maintain dependable performance throughout.
Offerings in the Control series line include:
• Heavy Driver (available in black or white finish): Featuring a 460cc titanium head and incorporating revolutionary “Dimple Face Technology,” the Heavy Driver was developed to maximize the coefficient of restitution (COR) without decreasing durability. This allows better weight distribution throughout the head, which has slightly more mass than traditional offerings, making it one of the highest MOI drivers on the market today. The benefit of additional mass in the head is greater force at impact, which results in superior distance. The driver is available in 9, 10 and HL or “High Launch” (12.5) lofts with a variety of flexes in a premium Aldila NVS shaft.
• Heavy Wood and Heavy Hybrid: Constructed of 17-4 stainless steel with a special face insert made of 455 steel, the Heavy Woods are available in 15 and 19 degree options, and the Heavy Hybrid in 20, 23 and 26 degrees.
• Heavy Irons: Designed to improve overall consistency, the Heavy Irons have a head weight of approximately eight grams more than conventional irons. This combines with the 50-gram counterweight to raise the balance point for unparalleled control. Unlike other leading manufacturers that have increased shaft length despite the inconsistency it causes, Heavy Irons are built to traditional length, promoting smoother transition and consistent contact for superior accuracy and lower scores.
• Heavy Wedge: Added weight (65 grams) is positioned in the butt of the shaft, raising the club’s balance point nearly 40 percent to promote improved distance and directional control. Available in a variety of loft and bounce options with grooves conforming to new USGA regulations.
