TrackMan A/S announces today that it has recently obtained a new US patent No. US 8,085,188.
The patent relates to comparing a target direction indicated in an image, e.g. by using a camera, with an actual ball direction determined by a radar.
Use of this technology is a key feature of many TrackMan products, including the super portable TrackMan Pro system used for measuring golf club and golf ball trajectories. The technology provides for the establishing of a reference direction for the Doppler radar measurements simply by pointing out a target in an image from the built-in camera on a computer screen, thus ensuring maximum ease of use without compromising data accuracy.
This technology is just one example of the TrackMan products being at the forefront of sport ball measurement technology.
TrackMan A/S has been granted a patent corresponding to patent No. US 8,085,188 in China, and related patent applications are being prosecuted in Europe, South Korea and Japan.
